SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley says he sustained a high ankle sprain late in the fourth quarter in the comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals. When the New York Giants used the No. 6 pick in the draft on quarterback Daniel Jones in 2019, they thought they had found their successor to Eli Manning. Then after a few seasons of middling play, two canned head coaches, in addition to the firing of the general manager who drafted him, a new regime came in before this season and indicated it might be ready to move on without Jones. Entering his fourth season, Jones hadn’t played particularly well and the Giants were among the NFL’s worst teams every year with him under center.
